About Mainul Haque
Hi, I'm Mainul Haque
I’m a father, husband, economist, public servant, social tennis player and a community worker.As President of the Canberra Muslim Community Inc, I mobilized around 40 different ethnicities, raised nearly $3 million dollars and delivered the multi-million-dollar Gungahlin Mosque project in 2017. I have been living in Gungahlin for nearly 25 years.
I love what our Gungahlin has to offer, from thriving communities to a unique natural environment. Still, I believe Yerrabi can do better. I ran at the 2020 ACT election because I believe that collectively we all are accountable to future generations for the protection of the environment and the creation of a better future for all of us.

Mainul Haque OAM, has been recognised as one of the distinguished recipients of the Order of Australia (OAM) award on 20 June 2023. The OAM award, bestowed as part of the King’s Birthday Honours, is a prestigious recognition of outstanding service and dedication. Mainul’s inclusion amongst the recipients of the Order of Australia award is a testament of his exceptional leadership, unwavering dedication, and significant contributions for our diverse communities in Canberra.
